Cort Worthington is on the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, where he teaches leadership, emotional intelligence, and negotiation courses for MBA and Executive MBA students. As a consultant and trainer, his client list includes Kaiser, Oracle, the US Army, Pixar, the US Winter Olympic Team, and the government of Saudi Arabia.
Prior to UC Berkeley, Cort was co-founder of the toy company Primordial, the home of Zoob®, where he served as Director of Operations. He also had a career as a film producer, directing documentary crews in the US, Scotland, and Finland.
Additional experiences include fourteen seasons leading elite teams as a forest fire fighter and parachuting U.S. Forest Smokejumper, which along with being a heck of an adventure piqued his interest in how improvisational principles apply to leading within complex, dynamic systems. This led to a ten-year immersion in studying, performing, and teaching theater improvisation. Somewhere in there Cort enjoyed the briefest of periods as an alfalfa sprout farmer.
Cort holds an MA in Communication from Stanford University, an MBA (finance) from Columbia University Business School, and an MBA (leadership) from the University of California, Berkeley.
Susan, Shifra (8), and Zachariah (3) make up the rest of the Worthington-Snyder gang.
