Roles at Alchemy: Partner, Expert
Julie is an independent coach, consultant, and facilitator. Her background is diverse and bridges the often too separate practices of engineering and leadership. She has worked extensively in both worlds and is known for her ability to help leaders develop authentic leadership presence, enabling them to engage their organization, produce better business results, and solve ambiguous business problems.
Julie began her career as a chemical engineer. She has worked as a process engineer for manufacturing at Coors Ceramics and Celestial Seasonings, and as a consultant addressing environmental restoration and waste management programs, primarily for the Department of Energy.
Twenty years ago, Julie turned to helping individuals and organizations deliver extraordinary results and bring deeper meaning to work by fully utilizing their true gifts. She has coached, consulted with or trained over 1,000 leaders to better address challenges in technical and general business environments. Her practice encompasses helping teams and groups develop more effective ways to get work done and resolve the chronic conflicts among organizational silos. Recent client companies include Ball Aerospace, Kroger and the City of Denver.
She is an active and passionate skier and volunteer and board member with IGNITE, a Boulder-based non-profit that teaches snow sports to disabled athletes of all levels. She’s the proud mother of two adult children. When not working with people she works with clay and wood firing at her home studio and happily partners with her husband Rob in ever-improving the rammed earth home they built in the mountains west of Boulder, CO.
