Jefferson likes words because words matter. Words create identity, personality and enable a compelling point of differentiation. This fascination with the power of words has been a key driver in his career as advertising executive, marketer and community developer.
His distinguished career in advertising includes leadership roles at Lowe Campbell Ewald, Omnicom's DDB Worldwide and Interpublic's FCB Worldwide. He has developed successful integrated marketing campaigns for brands including Clorox, Mattel, Atari, Henkel, Farmers Insurance, Sonos, RSVP Vacations and the University of Phoenix. His agency experience is balanced with five years in leadership positions at affinity travel and affinity membership organizations.
As the current CEO of Muse Brands in San Francisco, Jefferson leads an award-winning team of creatives and marketing strategists from three continents serving a global roster of clients in consumer packages goods, hospitality, technology, apparel, and luxury brands.
Previous to Muse, he was CEO of Berkeley's Cal Alumni Association, responsible for stewarding the organization's financial and operational. He helped raise $5 million in undergraduate scholarships and was also a Regent of the University of California, helping guide its strategic and financial success.
A California native, Jefferson is passionate about the environment, education, and the arts.
