Scott is known internationally as a leader, teacher and author on the role of imagination, creativity and innovation in commerce, culture and education.
For 25 years he served with distinction as executive director of Lincoln Center Institute. His work is credited as having a deep impact on education and culture. For example, he guided the start-up of 12 public and charter schools. Scott also established numerous new national and international programs that develop outcome-based and successful earned income initiatives. Additionally, he served as executive producer of dozens of new works by internationally renowned artists, and annually he oversaw an ambitious performance season of dance, music and theater works.
In 2012, he started Squiggle, a consulting firm that enables clients across professional sectors and around the globe to be deeply imaginative and creative. He also serves as Global Advisor to GEMS Education, Senior Advisor to Council on Competitiveness, Chairman of the Board of COMPASS Charter School, Co-Producer and Writer Newswire.fm and, finally, as Co-Producer and Writer of Possibility's Place, a new media show for young children.
Prior to the Lincoln Center role, Scott was a professional modern dancer in the Deborah Anderson Dance Company and taught dance at Antioch College and The Ohio State University.
Over past few years Scott has served on numerous panels including National Endowment for the Arts, NASA, and Nation at Risk Review. He is a keynote speaker from here to Dubai to London. He is co-author with Eric Liu of Imagination First, co-editor with Dr. Madeleine Holzer of Community in the Making; and currently is working on new book, tentatively titled Imagination and the New Marketplace.
