Mark is a “shrink to fit” on steroids.
Widely viewed as a “People Hacker,” he first developed his skills as a suicide and violence interventionist and UCLA professor of psychiatry. He expanded that to training FBI and police hostage negotiators and extended that to advising CEO’s and founders who want to either turbo-charge or jumpstart their visionary chops. He speaks internationally on a variety of leadership, communication and relationship building topics, including “Hacking Steve Jobs – How to Create the Future.”
He is the author of seven books including “Just Listen” Discover the Secret to Getting Through to Absolutely Anyone, the top book on listening globally, and his most recent book, Talking to Crazy: How to Deal with the Irrational and Impossible People in Your Life. He contributes to Harvard Business Review, Business Insider, Fast Company, Psychology Today and the Huffington Post and is a co-host on the new NPR show, It’s Your Health, and the Zo What Morning Radio Show.
He appears frequently in the media as a behavioral and psychological expert. He live in Los Angeles with his wife and three dogs in the house where they filmed the last 20 minutes of the movie, “Superbad.”
